Tuesday, Nov. 3

Depart St Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 West Market St, Akron, Ohio, at 8:00 am after a continental breakfast.

Travel to Do Good Restaurant and Ministry, Osgood, Ohio, for lunch, where all the tips are collected and given to a needy family or individual at the end of each month. So far, they have dispersed $60,000!

Check in at Spiritual Center of Maria Stein, Maria Stein, Ohio. Enjoy a teaching on Jesus and the saints (right on the heels of All Saints Day) and the use of relics in the church from earliest days (when St. Paul’s handkerchief and aprons were used for healing in Acts 19). Take the opportunity to tour the Relic Chapel where the second most relics in the US are housed, walk the scenic grounds, pray and shop. This night, we will learn more about Genesis 1-4, as well as have evening prayer together.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

Early breakfast and then board the bus for prayer and study on the Holy Spirit in Genesis on the way to Dayton. Tour the Wright Brothers National Museum and the 1905 Wright Flyer III—the only airplane designated a National Historic Landmark, as well as access to other significant historical innovations in Carillon National Park such B&O #1 John Quincy Adams, the oldest existing American-built locomotive.

Enjoy lunch at one of three eateries (Dayton Barbecue Co, Carillon Brewing Co or Culp’s Café). More time for exploring, then dinner together and a dive into Genesis 5-9 (including Noah and the flood) as we head to Holiday Inn Express in Dry Ridge, Kentucky.

Thursday, Nov. 5

After breakfast, we will explore for most of the day the vast and amazing replica of Noah’s Ark at the Ark Encounter, witnessing just how ingenious life on the Ark most likely was. After being there you will understand just why the Ark regularly receives rave reviews. It took over 1,000 craftsmen to build what is the largest timber frame structure in the US.

After dinner, we will return to the hotel for evening prayer and reflection on the day, what we saw and learned so far.

Friday, Nov. 6

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and depart for Covington, Kentucky’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, breathtaking and magnificent in its art and architecture that lifts one's soul to God. It also has a special shrine to St. Paul which has his carpal bone, so significant for this major writer of the New Testament!

Before lunch, we will have the unusual advantage of seeing UNESCO’s newest World Heritage Site, Hopeton Earthworks, Chillicothe, Ohio, woodland ceremonial grounds built by Native Americans between 200 BC-500 AD. While they were reaching to the heavens, the Lord was descending in the Promised Land for them and all peoples!

Lunch in Grove City, Ohio, before departing for and arriving in the early evening at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
