11-Day Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Day 1 - Fly from Cleveland International to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport


Day 2 - Arrive in Tel Aviv. Go to Mt Carmel, Haifa, Nazareth Market, then Ramada Olive in Nazareth for dinner and overnight


Day 3 - Visit Basilica of the Annunciation, Homes of Joseph and Mary, and Newly uncovered Childhood home of Jesus. Head to Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle changing water into wine at a wedding, then Mt Tabor site of Jesus' Transfiguration. Tabgha Pilgrims House (Galilee) for dinner and overnight through Day 6.


Day 4 - Begin at Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, to Primacy of Peter where Jesus ate breakfast on the seashore with his disciples after Resurrection. Then Mt. of Beatitudes and to center of Jesus' ministry, Capernaum to see Synagogue where Jesus taught, and Peter’s House where Jesus lived. Afternoon retreat at seashore


Day 5 - Start in Magdala, village of Mary Magdalen, Bethsaida where five of the apostles grew up, and relax on the beautiful Sea of Galilee with a ride in a fisherman‘s boat, Boat Museum to see 1st century fisherman’s boat and Gift Shop. Then to Kursi where Jesus healed the Gerasene demoniac


Day 6 - See impressive ruins of Ancient City of Dan, 3,000 yr old Gate where Abraham entered Promised Land, Caesarea Philippi where Jesus asked apostles “Who do you say I am?”, and ancient village of Katzrin


Day 7 - Travel Jordan Valley to Jesus’ Baptismal Site, Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, up to Jerusalem to Mt. of Olives, Church of Tears where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight at Jerusalem Lutheran Guest House through Day 9.


Day 8 - Judean hills to Ein Kerem, John the Baptist's hometown, Church of the Visitation of Mary and Elizabeth. Onto Bethlehem, Jesus' birthplace, and Shepherds Hill, where David was born and tended his flocks, where angels announced the birth of Jesus. Meet Christian family and patronize local restaurant/gift shops, Lifegate Rehabilitation in Beit Jala. Go to Upper Room where Last Supper and Pentecost occurred


Day 9 - Pray in Garden of Gethsemane. Visit newly opened Tomb of Kings thought to be built for Herod Agrippa. Then to Israel Museum to see first century replica of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus. Go to Notre Dame permanent Shroud of Turin replica display, Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the lame man. Follow the Passion of Jesus through the Via Delarosa-Stations of Cross-to the Church of Holy Sepulcher housing Golgotha and Resurrection Chapel


Day 10 - Christ Church Jerusalem and conversation with Rev. Aaron Eime about ministry to the Jewish people and Archbp. Hosam Naoum of Jerusalem & Middle East, dean of St. George’s Cathedral. Free time for lunch at place of your choice and shopping in Old City & Palestinian handicraft shops in East Jerusalem, Wailing Wall and Southern Steps of Temple where Jesus and apostles walked in and out of Temple. Conclude at Abu Ghosh (Emmaus) for Celebration Meal and to the airport


Day 11 Arrive home
